Before I post some follow up on the trip, as well as a top 10 image countdown from the whole journey. I want to just drop a "I'm Back Smorgasbord" (does anyone even know what that means?) I try to explain it every time, but basically its a huge plethora of things on a table to munch on. So here you go.

This actually gives me hope. I always thought water landings never produced survivors.
The Pilot deserves a medal. Plus a key to the school of "How to avoid huge flocks of birds while piloting a jet"

My Grandmother passed away this week. Its been tough on our whole family, but we all know she really is in a better place. She was such a quirky woman, the best grandmother ever! She was an early financial teacher for me, as well as many other wonderful things. See you in Heaven Dorothy, thanks for everything.

My Aunt Died this week too. I didn't really know her very well. The only thing I really knew was she was hindu,she brought our family a pretty purple bowl when she ate in the bus with the family for the first and last time. We had the bowl for what must have been 15 years... Her husband Jim is my dad's brother, (a talented musician). He still lives in India. I'd love to see him soon.

Our Beach

Palawan was wild.
Amazing weather.
Perfect water.
Mangos for breakfast,lunch and dinner.
Scuba Diving.
Swimming all day.
BAM. I'm ready to start work. it was my much needed once a year all out vacation and an end to the adventure that is the Philippines.

I'm boarding a flight back to LAX tonight.

Hung out with Filipino superstars Richard Gutierrez & KC Concepcion.
They were filming their newest movie "When I met you" on our mini island.
I guess KC is like the filipina Megan Fox and Richard is the Filipino Zac Efron... or something of that sort. KC's yoga instructor Al was my island volleyball/cocktail friend for a few days until he left. Justine KC's god sister was fun to chill with as well.

Anyways. Heading home now!

Loboc,Bohol :Trip Day 11 REAL DEAL

That little building to the left is where we ate a bunch of our meals. about the middle of the image is where we slept in huts. The place is "Nuts Huts"

I have 12 min to write this because my laptop is nearly out of power and this place doesn't have an outlet anywhere.
So I'm going to post images and write details under each image...like usual.

Here goes.

We're in Bohol. We found a boat to take us up river to a location I found online called nuts nuts.

My friend Eric Trine is in China. He had a good perspective about the "Time Travel" that happens when flying to Asia. HERE.
I feel the same way Eric. Its 8:30PM the 8th of Jan. here in the Philippines but its 4:30 in the morning on the 8th in LA. So weird that I lost a day coming here and will gain a day when I go back...unless of course I fly the other way around the world.

We're in Bohol. Tonight will probably be the last night/day I have internet for awhile.
Audrey and I flew into Tagbilaran yesterday and drove around trying to find a place to sleep. We finally found a spot and have been here ever since. Its a nice little spot on the beach. they call it a "resort" but its far from that. A good location non the less.
Here's a few shots from our journey here.
I rented a bike today. So worth the 800 pisos for 8 hours (about $17)

Tagaytay Volcano

A long drive in the back with 4 people on a 3 person seat was well worth it when we arrived to the viewing deck to see the active Volcano. The smell wasn't pleasant, neither was the lines to use the bathroom... But a fun experience non-the less.

PS. I'm sitting in the McDonalds here... they serve rice.

Cock Fight!

I went to a cockfight today.
A little unnerving. Its unusual to see animals die in an entertainment setting. I observed and documented, as well as tried to understand the process.
Here is a sample of images from today.
I also drove with Audrey and her family (Tito Rey,Tito Jerry,Tita Liza and Ate Iza) to Tagaytay to see the active Volcano. I'll post images from that later if I can. As you can see, I'm on a marathon posting spree.

Good afternoon from Manila!
(Its Dec.31st here, I'm a day ahead!)
I'm in a state of the art internet kiosk and I thought I would try to transfer a few images from my trip so far onto my blog for the readers that haven't abandoned me during my adventure.

The trip has been excellent so far. I've eaten some things that human's shouldn't eat, met some amazing people, experienced the market and even a trip to the spa with Tito Rey ($800 pesos...$18 hour and a half spa treatment?) riding in a tricycle in the rain was a highlight too.
Anyways getting to know this culture has been rewarding. I love the philippines so far...plus the US dollar is stronger then hulk hogan in his glory days.

Alright...I just fouhnd out that my drive won't work in this boatanchor of a computer. I'll try posting them later. FUHHH! (UPDATE: I just uploaded some!!!!)

Make sure to ask the person if they would like to be helped before you carry them to safety. Keep looking for people that may need a hand.

My Family and Christmas

I miss them.
This is the first Christmas that I've been away from my family since I was in Indonesia with Ira in '04. And to think I'm missing a white Christmas??? Awww, not only do I miss my family, but I miss the Christmas of old, the traditional one filled with homemade food,a cozy fire place,Christmas carolers coming to the doorstep, you know chestnuts roasting on the open fire.
This year, the thing I'm looking forward to the most is a sports game? Things have changed... I miss tradition... I miss my family. I am lucky to have Jo-Dilly down here though. Love that kid!

I think Audrey had a great time and she's 21 now!!! Which is a big burden off my shoulders, I can now take my girlfriend to concerts and lounges in LA.

Belmont Shore Christmas Parade

Love this shot.

The 26th Annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade was Saturday night. I was a parade judge. What does that mean? It means any number of things, but mainly that I dress up like a judge, pens in pocket, tie around neck and a niche for seeing details in floats, then in turn putting your thoughts on paper all in a matter of 15 seconds or for however long it took for the float to drive/roll/walk across my view.
So there you have it... how to judge a Christmas parade 101. You also have to have a good supply of wine nearby...which I had.
I love the annual Christmas parade mostly because it seems like after the parade is over, Christmas season can finally begin here in the shore.
As you can see I was busy judging I had a hard time finding time to photograph.

Billabong Christmas Party

The event was in an old hanger.

Recycled classic record covers,song sheets and a homemade bar adorned the inside

I had the privilege of photographing White Lilac's amazing event design at the Billabong Christmas party at Great Park in Irvine. (You gotta love that name..."Great Park" I mean I should switch my photography studio name to "Great Photography")
Billabong's owner Gordan Merchant flew from Australia to be at the event. Rides on the giant Helium Balloon were free for the night (turns out the rides are free until January when they will charge $20 per adult per ride)

I don't think I've told the world yet, but I think I've found my match interms of event Style and design. I love working with White Lilac Inc! Those women are amazing! Take a look at their work! So creative, beautiful and well done! All of the records, music sheets, boards, even the bar is made from recycled material from thrift stores and vintage stores. Much harder work, but better for the earth. Try it some time. Want to see more event photos? Go HERE there should be images soon.

The Helium balloon that brought us 400 feet above ground and then back down again. It was like being a miniature piece of rice under a little kids balloon... string and all. I asked questions such as "What if that string holding us to the ground breaks? Will we be a physics lesson to the rest of humanity until the end of time?" I learned about the releasing of helium in a controlled manner would bring us safely down somewhere in a 40 mile radius.

I love this series. A perfect way to end a selective night at a surf industry Christmas party.

Yes, the Mt.St.Helens Vietnam Band performed like mad at the Echo last night. I was there to document the golden moments.

•Some highlights included 5 news songs (they'll blow your mind)
•Jared bouncing Tennis balls off of a snare drum into the crowd.
•Lead singer Benjamin Verdoes chucking his water bottle in a fit of energy.
•Keyboardist and backup vocalist Tracy Verdoes jumping ontop of the drumset and distroying it.
•Some amazing Beats bumping from Matthew's synthesizer.
• 13 year old Marshall Smashing drums like potatoes for thanksgiving dinner.

Amazing show...not the best turnout and HORRIBLE bands played after MSHVB. Freaked the hell outa me!

This month is WILD!

Everyone here knows how Christmas season goes right? I mean you get extremely busy, days full of shopping, time off to visit family,enough eggnog and peppermint mochas to float you through until the next year, not to mention hearing enough Christmas music (during a 3 week span) to last you until your 40th Christmas... and thats if your 23 like me.

Anyways, my month isn't exactly the usual Christmas month... its more like a marathon month... But I love it! I'm thriving off of those mochas and no sleep. I plan on getting sleep on my 30 hour flight to South East Asia (see Dec. 27th).

She got me this Polaroid Camera, its the original SX-70
I love it! When I photographed Shannon Leith a few weeks ago, she brought along her SX-70, I was Able to shoot some Polaroids with it. Coincidentally, Audrey just happened to get me one this past weekend!

Lose the flab, Run on Thanksgiving!

BELIEVE ME! You'll feel much much better when you eat pounds of turkey on Thanksgiving if you get the chance to run a few K's. Try 10 out for size and see what happens. Maybe you'll pass out...who cares! Its thanksgiving and there will be turkey and family and pumpkin pies waiting for you to come get out of your exhaustion coma.

So here whats going on and where to find info on running.
Believe me, its worth it... + like 4000 people dfo it, so it'll make the news and you can watch tyhat while your sipping on a thanksgiving beer.

Erica Hinshaw just turned 30 and she did it in style!
Celebrating with a "Dirty 30" theme, renting out the "Luce Loft" in Downtown San Diego, bringing in A band, A DJ, an incredible event designer, A great friend to help her out with linens (Brooke got the hook up from White Lilac Inc.), a caterer and myself to shoot the event!
I think she had a great time all night. Her and her friends are extremely attractive, so it made my job much easier.

Southern California is burning!

This place is a smoke house. This weekend fires roared 20 miles from my studio. It was 90º+ and It felt like I was in a smoke filled sauna.
Take a look at these shots I took while walking out the door for San Diego.
My black car looks more of a Grey tint with this ash layer.
After breathing in toxic waste for 3 days and seeing ash float around like snow in the winter...
I have a solution for punishing fire starting piro freaks... burn them at the stake.
My Heart goes out to all those that lost their homes and their memories to the fires.
And Oprah who lost her home.
I'm complaining about air quility here, but I can't imagine what it would be like to lose everything... that ash we see in the air and stuck to our cars could be someone in Yorba Linda's couch.

Audrey's Gritty Shoot: "Sneak Peek"

Alright alright, so I'm not supposed to post much about this shoot yet. But I couldn't resist any longer!
Audrey's having her 21st birthday in a few weeks and what better time to do a fashion shoot for her invites then now?
She wanted something gritty, but high fashion, rough, but sexy, something that discribes her in one image. We ended up shooting at a few undisclosed locations with scary people all over the place, it was really quite fun. Audrey just about froze to death and we both came out of it as happy as ever. I wish I could show you my top 10 images... But I'll wait a few days until all of the invites are out.

What'd you call me?

Me: "Hi my name is Samuel."
New person: "Oh hi Sam, its nice to meet you, I'm Ellen"
Me: "Elley! Great to meet you too!"

Isn't that a weird dialogue? Both of us made it clear what our names were, but both of us diregarded eachothers wishes to be called by our introduced names.

So I figured its about time to just drop a blog about this... its gotten out of hand and its given me shivers down my neck for too long and especially this week.

Here's whats wrong:
People keep calling me a name I can't stand. Its my name shortened. its the wretched "sam". Its the name that you name your big fluffy back yard dog, its the name someone once gave their goat when they lived next to us. Its the name that has haunted me since I was a child.

I had a theory in gradeschool. The people that I don't like call me "sam" those that love me and I'm close with call me by my real name SAMUEL... that theory didn't last long, because everyone became quick enemies with me for using the 3 letter name.

If your name is James, do I switch it to Jim right away?
When you introduce yourself as Andrew, I don't switch it to Andy.
If your name is Robert, I don't assume you go by Rob.
Rebecca-Bec?
Anthony-Tony?
Luis-Lu?
Trevor-Trev?
Amanda-Mandy?

I mean common, why try to shorten my name to this...If you want something shorter, give me a nickname, something endearing...or something harsh, I don't care what it is, be creative. So in the future, remember this post: My NAME is SAMUEL, sam might be a good name, you might know 100 sams, heck you might even shop at sams club... but when you're referring to me, its SAMUEL.

She was in need of some new images for her upcoming blog launch, so we set out to get her just that... I think we ended up getting more then that. I'm honored she would come to me for pictures and not just shoot self portraits like I do when I need pictures, Haha!

Ellen and Andrew came knocking on my door for some superb imagery to document their love for eachother, advertise their upcoming marriage and to portray who they are and things they enjoy. I gladly agreed.
After idea after idea, we came up with an amazing plan! An afternoon Sunday picnic in the woods... It ended up starting to pour down while we were shooting, so the umbrella came in handy. I love these few images. There are plenty more amazing shots, but I can't show you too much, I want there to be some mystery for when they show you themselves!

I got a letter from Larry Cox from Amnesty International. I liked what he had to say.

And then yesterday, the biggest racial barrier in American politics was annihilated. By record margins, America elected Barack Obama the first African-American president of the United States.

Hope overcame fear. Ordinary citizens mobilized to change the future. This is the heart of Amnesty International. Since 1961, we’ve held out hope for those enduring injustice, when all hope was lost. And through the power of your collective actions, hundreds of thousands now enjoy greater freedom and a safer, more just world.

A record 131 million people cast their vote and exercised one of the most fundamental of human rights. But as Barack Obama said last night,

"This victory alone is not the change we seek--it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you."

My voting booth. Did you know that a woman was running for president? I didn't either!

The end is near: I experienced it for myself. The feeling was if I tossed my last shot at the basket in the NBA finals, as if I drove my last lap in a race or even threw the last pitch in the world series but it was all for this 2008 election.
I sighed a large sigh of relief after I dropped my ballot into the electronic vote "gobbler" which of course is my code word for a small machine that calculates your entire voice in the nations future. As I walked out of the polling place I had a huge weight off of my shoulders, I have done all I can do to help bring about change, I've pushed people to vote for Change, I've made myself clear and donated hundreds of dollars to help this country... I had done it all and now I was finished! Was I finished though? It then dawned on me... This change we speak about has just begun, my work has just started, I have plenty more things I can do for my environment, for my community, for my family and my country. My Job has just begun. Your job has just begun.
Politics are dangerous. Politics can sway people away from really partaking in reality, as if we rely on the politicians to do all the work for us, we just need to place our vote.
I've been reminded once again, it isn't Obama and Biden, or McCain and Palin that will switch this country around, its you and its I.

I'm relieved to have november 4th finally here. I'm sick of political signs littering the streets and arguments and debates taking over my life. I can now (now meaning when we get the voting results) shake hands in truce with my best friends and blessed family who I've disagreed with for the past 10 months.

Of course I voted for Barack and Biden, they'll be exactly what our country needs right now...of course I'll be behind whoever becomes our next president, besides, before being a republican or a democrat or an independent party member, we're all Americans, American's that want change.

The biggest election I've ever seen, read about, been apart of or contributed to... the journey for who will be our next president is just about over... But the journey of bringing our country back to the top has just begun.

Being Vanilla Ice for a night

Last night was Halloween. I spent it with some legit peeps. A family of Pirates, A mariachi couple, an abusive wife (who ripped her husbands arm off), Cleopatra, A Mormon Missionary,A Cowgirl, A Professional luchador (Mexican wrestler),Snow White, A cavewomen, A Jabbawackee Dancer and a few other random people.

A fun night at Brittany's place and being in Vanilla Ice's shoes was really sweet, (dancing has never been more fun)...

Its all "About Face"

As you have seen in recent posts, I have photographed my friend Rita. The images are being used for promo and marketing for a launch to her brand New Skin line called "About Face"
I've been going to her for about 3 years now, anything I need, from facial's to stress reduction massages and brow waxing. She also does numerous things I won't get... Bikini Waxes,Permanant makeup, Microdermabrasion (Although someday I'll get the microderm). She is a wizard of skin care and a certified esthatician. So she's amazing and has what everyone that goes to her calls "An Angels touch" which sounds cliche until it actually applies to you.

BIG NEWS About Rita:

She hasn't recently moved to a NEW SALON. ("Chill Salon" on 2nd St. and Bayshore)
She has a MYSPACE & like I mentioned above...
She's releasing a new Skin Care Line called "About Face"

I haven't tried her new line yet BUT... I'm sure it is AMAZING! Anything that she trusts to be on her face, I trust to be on mine.

Hey, its finally H-Ween!

I never thought this day would come. I feel like I've been seeing skulls in windows and the color orange for 4 months! I gotta say Halloween makes me sick. Why do we even make sure to do something unique on such an evil day? Oh, I hear you debating "No, Samuel, its not evil, its just an innocent holiday like St. Patricks day, or Memorial Day" my answer to that is THIS. Anyways, Halloween is the 2nd grossing holiday after Christmas, so maybe its what our economy needs...some holidays that everyone continues to work on. Isn't that consider perfect economy fuel?

So with that said, I'll go ahead and be hypocritical for a day, but mostly in regards to celebrating that the gross "Holiday" is over! In celebration, I dressed myself in Vanilla Ice attire and donned an attitude of "I'm the best and you all wanna be like me" so yeah... I'm having fun with it. Not sure how my studio guys are doing with it, but hey its just fr a day! (or is it??)

Halloween:
I'm not a fan. This season gives me the heebey jeebeys. Something not appealing about window fronts with realistic looking skeletons and cob webs, or people dressed as if axes were embeded in their chest from rabid enemies... not my season I guess. I like Christmas and summer... but I guess you need to have seasons you don't liek to really enjoy the seasons you like... the gift of contrast.

The one here on 2nd street in Belmont Shore is patheticaly slow and unorganized. They don't have a comment box anymore, so this is my comment to them. "You better get it in gear, Yogurtland is coming to town and will take you down if you don't step it up and make quicker better drinks in a professional manner, love Samuel"

Jim Harrick from Ceremony Magazine calls me a few times a week, but today he took the cake. Quote to my associate Jon. "You know who I want to be in the next life? That would be Samuel Lippke! he has the whole package!..." then on the phone to me seconds later "You know who I want to be in the next life? Ira Lippke! He knows how to fork out the cash!..." Anyone that can entertain Jon, myself and the rest of the studio deserves the man of the day awards.

I drove to San Diego on Saturday to photograph the picture perfect San Diego couple. Newly engaged and in need of photos, they found me through WPJA (Wedding photojournalist Association) It was an honor to shoot with them, they had great chemistry, both were easy to shoot and both are great looking too! I look forward to their wedding next summer!
After the shoot, Andy and Gila treated me to dinner and drinks at The Linkery , one of San Diego's hippest health centered resturants. I loved it and will be back! Thanks again Andy and Gila for turning me on to this spot.
Anyways, I'll get on with it.

Hey Bluetooth users!

Goodevening friends.
I've been noticing something lately. There are more and more people walking around with bluetooth earpieces on...yes, walking around,eating dinner, going to movies/dates, at the gym, I mean come on, I could see using it in a store while grocery shopping, or even while clothes shopping, thats cool...I know you could use that extra hand... but here's when to take out that damn piece of ugliness.

1.CHURCH! (This is a given right??)
2.Dinner/lunch/any time you eat with anyone (exception...you're an agent and you're with your client and that client needs you to be on the phone WHILE you cut that filet with both hands.)
3.During a conversation with a real life person.
4. In the shower. (unless its water proof and you're a freakface)
5. Anywhere you should be interacting with other humans.

Those things were invented to save your life while operating a vehicle, but not for quick calls to others while you're at a baseball game, church, or at dinner dinner with a friend.

quick story, then I'm off to sleep:
I have a bluetooth.
I've used it while using the computer at my desk.
After using it for about an hour on and off, my associate Jon ignored everything I said, as he thought I was still on the phone.

BAM! I think I've made my point.
Use those things when you're not in contact with other people and you need both hands.

The Parade for Dogs

Today was Mayhem on 2nd st. I loved it!
A million and 30 people on my street? I had to shoot some pictures.

Justin Rudd put this wild dog costume parade on.
Again, I kept feeling like I was the bases of a film... this wild event happening below my feet and I'm up in its face with a camera, getting licked by a new dog every block, stepping on masked bystanders feet and watching people get yelled at for their illegal street loitering.
Oh Belmont Shore, you've shown up the other shores of the world once again.

Palm Springs Summary

Palm Springs:

I stayed at the Parker Hotel for 2 nights.
1st night was a rehearsal dinner (a very LONG rehearsal dinner), 2nd Day was the wedding (see previous post) Night was filled with a wedding reception and then an after party of champagne and burgers with the White Lilac crew...minus Sunny who was fighting an extremely painful migraine and had to be rushed to the ER for a few shots from large needles. The night was interesting to say the least... Adam and I weren't sure which room we had to stay in, so confusion quickly turned into switching rooms and then switching back. I ended up relaxing by the firepit for awhile talking with a bunch of different people... some on drugs, some on alcohol, some on both... one retired stripper (that didn't get the memo she was retired) one myspace operator that had Reebok Pumps on, the wedding's hair stylist (nory) , 2 "would be" bridesmaids oh! and a passed out lady that was apparently just sleeping in one of the 8 firepit chairs... A weird night, but memorable, it felt like something from a Coen Brother's film... it didn't really amount to much except a weird concept and strong charactors.
My plan for the next day was to wake up early and play a game of tennis with Will Ferrell who supposedly was still at the hotel... it didn't happen... I woke up at 11am.
A fun trip, great pictures, met some fun people from Houston.
I have a few more pictures to post, but I can't locate where the images are...but I've only checked 3 of the drives...

I've Been Food Poisoned

The answer would be...
Yes, I've been food poisoned... someone at El Torrito wanted to kill me (along with Ceasar and Amanda) Why would they want to do something like that? I mean, I think we're pretty loud and fun and sometimes we (we meaning them) bust out in a Mariah Carey song. Anyways, without giving you too many nasty details from the past 30 hours, I'll just say, I'm alive and kicken. It'll take more then 2 chicken and 2 carne asada tacos to bring me down!
With that said, the only thing I've been able to do in the past 30 hours is lay down, think about what my stomach should feel like and curse taco tuesdays.
Good news is...I'm feeling on the upside of this and my girl has taken great care of me. She's amazing!

Angie and David's Wedding

The Parker Hotel in Palm Springs hosted one of my favorite weddings of the year.
Event Design and consulting: White Lilac , they did an amazing job, Sunny and Katie deserve gold stars.
Adam Sjoberg Assisted and shot with me, some of the image credit goes inpart to him releasing stress off of me as well as doing some excellent shooting of his own.
Overall the Location,the event design,the newly married couple and the photographs came together to make a gorgeous event.

Long Beach Wedding

Stacey and Jamie were married yesterday.
The Ceremony was at St.Bartholomew church off of Nieto in Long Beach and the Reception was held at Virginia Country Club. The event inspired a great deal of celebration, which included dancing, drinking and eating.
Ira and I photographed, with assisting by Josiah. It was the first time only the Brother's Lippke ran the whole show. In the past when Josiah has assisted for me and Luke assisted for Ira... so first time us 3 brothers made things happen.

Libby! You're 24 now! How does it feel? The same? what!!? thats ridicules! You're a whole year older! You should at least feel more mature, more seasoned and now able to handle each and every scenario with ease. Libby, you're in your prime. Everyone envy's the primetime.

I will be photographing a wedding with Ira on Saturday (tomorrow) so I won't be able to attend Libby's birthday party/bash/dance off... I'm disappointed... but! I'm happy I was invited to the family party!

Yes, once again I photographed for White Lilac.
This time the event was held inside a tent near the Island Hotel, Also home of Fashion island in Newport Beach.
The pomp and glory of the decorations were most impressive. Thanks in full to White Lilac's team of Sunny Ravanbach and Katie Rudd. They worked extra hard to transform this room into exactly what the Harvesters would need for a successful Charity Event.

As well as handing out burgers and fries for cheap, I heard if you buy 2 burgers, you get a whole store for freeeeee!!!!

I'm sure you've seen the emails stating that In-N-Out is going all out for their big 60th and rewarding their faithful customers with 1948 prices...

In-n-Out’s 60thYear Anniversary is Wednesday, October 22nd.All hamburgers will be sold for 25 cents, Cheeseburgers 30cents, Fries 15 cents, and drinks are 10 cents!!! So mark your calendars!

But the rumor is false... yeah...bummer..

University by the Sea

Jo-Dilly and I stopped by University by the sea. We park illigally at Vons accross the way, but then decided to buy ice cream sandwiches to make our parking job legit... Ice Cream sandwich box and gatorade in hand. We headed across the street towards the loud music. Instantly I was able to hand out the rest of the ice cream treats and start checking out the festivities. The Ice Cream man was there, graffiti artists doing controled mureals. Bands playing on the main stage, skateboarders, cyclists, people handing out fliers, friends giving out non permanant tattoos (which I tried putting on with gatorade for lack of water... bad idea.) I stopped by the gallery where my work was being displayed... just for a minute to see if my pieces had been bought... they hadn't.
And bam! We were outa there to play tennis!

There you have it! University by the sea was fun...not my crowd... they must have left. But the rest of the scene was hopping... I wish I could have skipped over to the garden of beer... but Lakers season is coming and I'm trying to start by avoiding beer for a little bit.

YES indeed!

P.S. I am roasting and it is October 7th folks! 98º degrees F!!!

White Lilac Event Design

I shot some details for White Lilac on Saturday night.
Can I tell you something? Yeah? Alright, here goes...

Those are some talented women Sunny Ravanbach and Katie Rudd are amazing! Everytime I work with them I am blown away! Great coordinating work by Katie Rudd! That is quite the All Star team right there!
Their event designing,color and flower arrangements, their attention to little details and creativity blow other events out of the water.
This was for an Engagement Dinner in Newport Beach at a private residence and it couldn't have been more beautiful!
I look forward to photographing with them again on the 18th in Palm Springs!

Shes been gone a little more then the weekend.
Its crazy how much someone can add to your everyday life. its amazing how just having that special person out for coffee can make your day, or when she stops into the studio to say hello, the way I light up when I see her face. You don't realize how much that person effects you until shes gone...for the weekend.
Its amazing to be in Love with her. She's my favorite! I am a lucky man.
I'm excited for dinner with her tonight!

Anyways, change of plans.
I am NOT going to the group show tonight, I'll be photographing for White Lilac at an undisclosed location. The show is NOT my style and I found that out after trying to find a good spot to hang my art during the art hang on friday.
My pieces turned out great, thanks in part to John Hesketh's hard work at Photomation. The show isn't my style and I nearly took all of my pieces down... so if you go see the show... Enjoy... I'm planning on having my own show soon... we'll see what I can do.

After shooting for White Lilac, I'll be heading to Rita Brady's grand opening at her new location! Rita is my dear friend who is an amazing Esthetician.

Then hopefully cocktails with a few good friends.
